Philip is an optimistic, music loving, faith fueled young person.
After growing up on an organic sheep and beef farm in the Scottish Borders, Philip moved to Edinburgh to study. First BSc Agriculture, then a postgraduate in Outdoor and Environmental Education. Philip invests his time in these areas - agriculture, environment and education - building his skills in both rural and urban contexts.
Philip and his wife Mary have their own farming business, producing outdoor reared, grass fed, organic lamb, as well as working part time with young people in inner city Edinburgh. Mary is developing a charity that champions leadership in young people. While Philip works as a youth worker for a local church passionate about using outdoor learning as a platform for relational youth work and environmental education.
Taking inner city teens to plant trees on his family farm, digging over veg plots with high school students, or face-timing a class in London while he works through his sheep - that's the sort of thing that keeps Philip busy.
